Q: Will other qualifications be considered?
A: Yes. A point system will be used to qualify individuals to sit for the exam. Criteria that determine a candidate’s eligibility for certification include the “three Es” recommended by the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA): experience in the CME field; education provided by other organizations that offer courses for CME Professionals; and examinations to test the application of required knowledge.

An ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA WORKSHEET can be downloaded and saved to your files; then you can enter your accomplishments on the Worksheet to see whether you qualify to sit for the exam [a score of 15 or more points is needed]. After you have verified your eligibility, the next step is to download and read through the CANDIDATES HANDBOOK to learn how to 1] Apply to sit for the exam and 2] Register at a testing center near you.
